Jumuia Hospitals is seeking to fill the position of a Business Development Manager. Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the above position based in Nairobi. The position holder will report to the Chief Executive Officer.


    I. Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities

  1. Initiate business development through revamping of existing products and developing new lines of services,
  2. Identifying potential business opportunities
  3. Undertake regular market research and analysis of market data as well as events/activities and recommend appropriate intervention strategies to ensure the hospital has an edge over the competition
  4. Develop customer care strategies and distribution strategies to acquire, expand and retain profitable relationships. Supervise and coordinate the hospital service charter so as to ensure that all are informed and service levels are executed to standard.
  5. Develop and implement product sales promotion strategies
  6. Formulate corporate brand identity
  7. Carry out periodic effectiveness review of the products and distribution channels and report to management
  8. Develop, distribute and manage all marketing merchandise, namely brochures, posters, tents, banners and other branding materials
  9. Responsible for business development budget, expenditure, identifying and resolving implementation programs
  10. Develop and manage corporate communication strategies 
  11. Develop and manage corporate social responsibility programmes to enhance the hospitals image
  12. Coach, mentor and develop direct reports and ensure that  all staff in the department are developed in line with the hospitals’ standards;
  13. Leading, directing, motivating, training, coaching and developing business development team
  14. Performance management for the business development team, managing leave schedules and other administrative activities

  1. Makes strategic, operational and financial decisions for the department
  2. Plans the work of subordinates
  3. Assigns work to the subordinates

  5. Appraises/evaluates subordinates performance

Works predominantly outside the hospitals

Closely works with churches and other organized groups and companies

Interacts with Hospital Administrators and Medical Superintendents

Academic Qualification

MBA in Marketing and Strategic Management

Professional Qualifications/Membership to professional bodies

Post graduate diploma in marketing, Member of Marketing Society of Kenya

Previous relevant work experience required

At least 5years of relevant experience
