Prof Alice Mutungi is the Dean, School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS), Kenya Methodist University (KeMU). She is the immediate former DVC Finance and Administration and Founding Dean of the SMHS at KeMU where she spearheaded the launch of the first Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBCHB) programme in a Private University in Kenya. She has passion for usage of ICT in education, particularly e-learning in medical education to increase access to, and reduce costs of, health workforce training and subsequently quality health care provision. She is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist and Public Health specialist, and previously worked with the Kenya Ministry of Health, taught at the University of Nairobi (1998-2009) and worked at the Regional Centre for Quality of Health Care at Makerere University in Uganda as Regional Reproductive/Maternal and Neonatal Heath Advisor (2001-2006). She holds a MBChB degree, MMed. in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, a MSc. in Reproductive Biology, all from the University of Nairobi; a Master of Public Health Leadership from Uganda Christian University in Uganda; Diploma in Virtual Leadership Development Program from Management Sciences for Health (MSH); and Certificate in Leading High-Performing Healthcare Organizations from MSH and Strathmore University.
